HEPA SUNSEEKER 200 – when solar power in a motorhome takes a quantum leap
I’ve always had a strong interest in new developments within the camping and motorhome world – especially when it comes to energy, self-sufficiency and technical solutions that make life on the road freer and more flexible.
What I enjoy most isn’t just reading about new equipment, but testing it in real life, using it day after day, and sharing our honest experiences through our films.
On the roof of our new motorhome, a Chausson 640 Titanium Line, we’ve now had two HEPA SUNSEEKER 200 units installed. And for the first time, I genuinely feel that solar power for motorhomes has taken a real technological step forward.
From more watts – to smarter watts
In our previous motorhomes, my focus has always been on high solar capacity:
In our first motorhome, a Chausson 720 Titanium Preimium, we had 2 × 455-watt mono solar panels mounted flat on the roof – a total of 910 watts.
In our next motorhome, a Chausson 660 Titanium ULTIMATE, I reused the same 2 × 455-watt panels, but rebuilt the system so the panels could be tilted towards the sun.
That made a significant difference.
Especially in the mornings and evenings, when the sun is low, efficiency increased noticeably.
If you have a high power consumption in your motorhome, it’s not just about battery capacity – it’s very much about how quickly you can put energy back into the system.
A completely new approach: fully automatic solar tracking
With our new motorhome, I chose a different approach.
Instead of chasing more watts, I chose intelligent solar power.
The HEPA SUNSEEKER 200 units we’ve installed are fully automatic solar trackers. This means they:
raise themselves towards the sun
automatically follow the sun throughout the day
continuously adjust their angle
and fold down again when the sun sets
All completely automatic.
And that’s exactly why I feel confident downsizing and running with “just” 2 × 200-watt solar panels – because the overall utilisation of the sun’s energy is significantly higher than what you achieve with flat or manually adjustable panels.
Installation – when experience and expertise really matter
The installation of our HEPA SUNSEEKER 200 was carried out by Henrik and Thor from DanCamper A/S, who are also authorised dealers of the HEPA Sunseeker system.
It has been a major advantage that the installation was done by people with in-depth knowledge of both the product and the motorhome itself. That means installation, cable routing and system setup were all thought through correctly from the very beginning.
When working with advanced, fully automatic equipment, correct installation is crucial for both reliability and performance.
Here, it has provided extra peace of mind knowing that the work was carried out by professionals who know the system in practice – and who understand how it needs to function in a motorhome that’s used every single day.
Tested in real life – not just on paper
As always, we test our equipment in real life.
Not just in theory – but in our everyday life, where we live full-time in our motorhome and travel continuously.
Watch our test of the HEPA SUNSEEKER 200
We regularly share:
experiences
observations
pros and cons
and honest assessments in our films
For us, it’s not about hype – it’s about practical technology that genuinely adds more freedom to everyday life on the road.
And already now, I can confidently say that the HEPA SUNSEEKER 200 is some of the most exciting solar equipment I’ve ever had installed on a motorhome.
